May 6th - 8th - American University in Bulgaria

The Future of Democracy & Finance Bulgarian -
Macedonian Student Summit

The Future of Democracy & Finance

The Bulgarian-Macedonian 3-day student summit will gather 50 students (25 Bulgarian and 25 Macedonian) to learn and discuss the benefits, the challenges, and the possible solutions to the challenges related to democracy and free markets. Special attention will be paid to the new blockchain technology and the Metaverse. Last year was a landmark year for the blockchain technology, from cryptocurrency going mainstream to an influx of capital into Web 3.0. New technologies can be a force for good but the same qualities that make the Metaverse and Web 3.0 a revolutionary innovation may also open the door, even wider, to harmful content and practices. The key to mitigate these risk is enlightened understanding of the topic.
